Refund Policy
⚡ How Payment Works
When you subscribe to droPrompt, your payment is allocated immediately:
- AI Provider Fees — Each prompt you generate calls one or more AI models via their APIs. These providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, etc.) charge us per-request, in real time, and those costs cannot be reversed or recovered.
- Payment Processing — Card networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) and processors (Stripe, InstaPay) deduct their fees at the moment of payment.
- Infrastructure & Commissions — Server hosting, third-party tooling, and referral commissions are paid out immediately upon subscription.
Because the vast majority of your payment is spent the moment it is received — on non-refundable third-party services — droPrompt does not offer refunds under normal circumstances.
Refund Policy
droPrompt operates on a no-refund basis. All subscription payments are final and non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Monthly and annual subscription fees for all plans
- Renewal payments
- Partial months or unused days remaining in a billing period after cancellation
- Prompt generation credits that have been consumed, partially or fully
- Add-on purchases or one-time payments
This policy exists because each subscription payment is applied instantly to costs that cannot be clawed back — AI model API calls are billed by the providers as soon as they are made, payment processors deduct their fees immediately, and commissions are paid out in real time.
Exception: Service Outage
The only circumstances under which droPrompt may issue a refund are cases of prolonged, verifiable service unavailability caused by droPrompt itself, including:
- Extended platform downtime — droPrompt is unavailable for 48 consecutive hours or more due to a fault on our end (server failure, critical bug, database corruption), excluding scheduled maintenance
- Data loss — Permanent loss of your account data (prompt history, projects, settings) caused by a failure on our infrastructure that we are unable to recover
- Billing error — You were charged an incorrect amount due to a bug in our billing system, and the error was not resolved within 5 business days of being reported
Refunds under these exceptions are pro-rata — limited to the portion of the billing period during which the service was unavailable or the error persisted. Each case is reviewed individually and approved at our discretion.
Refunds are not granted for: service degradation (slowness, occasional errors), feature unavailability, changes to our product or pricing, compatibility issues with third-party tools, or dissatisfaction with AI model outputs.
How to Request an Exception
If you believe you qualify for a refund under the service outage exception above, please contact us through our contact page with the subject "Refund Exception Request". Include:
- The email address associated with your droPrompt account
- The date and amount of the charge
- A clear description of the outage or error you experienced, including timestamps and any supporting evidence (screenshots, error messages)
We will review your request and respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Cancellation
You may cancel your droPrompt subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation is immediate and stops future billing.
What happens when you cancel:
- You will not be charged for any future billing periods
- You retain full access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period
- Your account automatically downgrades to the free tier at the end of the billing period
- Your saved prompt history is preserved for 30 days after downgrade
Cancellation does not trigger a refund of any kind — the current billing period's payment remains non-refundable as explained in Section 1.
Payment Disputes
If you believe you have been incorrectly charged, please contact us before filing a dispute with your bank or card issuer. We can usually resolve billing concerns quickly and directly.
Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending investigation. Chargebacks that are found to be invalid after investigation will result in permanent account closure and referral to collections.
All payment processing is handled securely by our providers (Stripe, InstaPay). If a dispute is filed, we will provide transaction records to assist in the resolution process.
Consumer Rights
droPrompt respects and upholds your rights as a consumer under Egyptian law. Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any rights you have under the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018.
Under this law, you are entitled to accurate and clear information about services before purchase, the right to fair treatment, and protection from misleading commercial practices. If you believe your consumer rights have been violated, you may contact the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) at cpa.gov.eg.
